Good stuff by Ray today.
I think he learned a lesson from waiting on Hoser a few seasons back. It disapointed be a bit that he couldn't add a scoring winger, but outside of the Poni deal (losing Caputi) who can complain.
We get Paul Martin, an excellent, two way d man... and Michalek, an excellent defensive dman who can move the puck too. Maybe Gonch skipping town for the money ended up being a good thing. He was offered the same money but for just one more year... so he go gets to go play in one of hocky's hells.
The D got a huge plus today. That was like 9 mill committed to two guys. After thinking about it, Ray got it right. They never had a problem scoring goals last season... it was keeping the chances off of MAF. He might be brilliant with a well rounded d around him The only thing I cry about is surrounding our fist class centers with third line wingers.. but oh well. That's part of the cap era. It's good to have some bad ass dmen to sign within an hour. Go Ray. Now let's see if he can work some trade magic to bring a winger. We can
t doubt him now.

I was watching part of Jersey VS Filthadelphia earlier. I never really realized how good Martin is. He was slamming guys off their skates, lead a few rushes, and dropped some bombs from the point. If Letang can learn to get that shot on the net everytime, that might be a potent PP.

Yeah it's sounding pretty good. You can put those two goons Letang and Gogo with two proven guys to cover their asses now with the additions of Michalek and Martin. That third line of Cooke and Asham is going to be bad ass. Then again, Cooke did well at times playing with Geno. So could it be Cooke, Staal, Geno.. or does superstar take that spot? Either way, good shit. Hell, you could even give Asham a shot right there.
